  • Moving to Finland?
FINBEL is a social network of Belgians, Finns, and others who are interested in the special bond that exists between our two fabulous countries, Belgium and Finland. Our goal is to share bits of Belgian culture in Finland.
Who are we?
FINBEL
is a small non-profit association that was originally created in the 1970’s, and was resuscitated again in 1996 by Marketta Palo, one of our longest-standing members. Currently FINBEL counts about 50 members.

We mainly use English as our communication language due to our heterogeneous member pool.
What do we do?
We organize all sorts of activities according to the liking of our members, and also strive to inform them of other Belgium-related issues and happenings, such as concerts and exhibitions.

Everyone is free to attend our open gatherings. Other events, such as the St. Nicholas celebration, are strictly for members.

The Board of the association consists of 9-12 members, who hold an annual meeting each autumn. The annual meeting starts with the General Assembly, open for all members, which handles the closing of the books, reviewing the past year, and electing new board members. The new board then moves on to  planning the upcoming year.
